Founding of the Ensemble
In 1989, Rina founded the Itim Ensemble. The establishment of the ensemble was a significant milestone in defining new ways of working while creating theatrical work from a place of complete collaboration. The ensemble received support from the Cameri Theater almost from the beginning, but remains independent.

Within the framework of the ensemble, Rina has directed performances of Hamlet, Woyzeck, Romeo and Juliet, Vayomer Vayelech, and Vayishtachavu. Vayerah (The Bible Project), Mythos, Three Sisters, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Dybbuk, Herzl, Krapp’s Last Tape, Exit the King, Peer Gynt, Endgame, and Timon of Athens.
The ensemble has performed shows directed by Rina at the most prestigious international festivals including; Hansel and Gretel (Humperdinck) for the Israeli Opera, and in 2000, the opera Electra (Richard Strauss), (International Opera Festival, Caesarea, Israel, International Opera Festival, Savonlina, Finland).
In 2001, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem awarded Rina Yerushalmi an honorary doctorate. She is a professor emeritus at Tel Aviv University, and was honored in 2012 with the Key to the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
Archive
An archive project, led by Dr. Sharon Lehavi Aharonson, is currently in process at Tel Aviv University to document Rina Yerushalmi’s work.
